Skin Needling

Skin Needling or Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) is an exciting new natural treatment to improve your skin texture, smooth wrinkles, fine lines and soften scars. It is suitable for all skin types and all areas of the face, neck, décolletage and hands.

How it Works

It is a minimally-invasive non-surgical and non-ablative procedure for facial rejuvenation and other concerns that involves the use of a micro-needling device to create controlled skin injury.

As each fine needle punctures the skin, it creates a micro-wound. The controlled injury triggers the body to fill these micro-wounds by producing new collagen and elastin in the papillary dermis.
In addition, new capillaries are formed. This neovascularization treatment leads to a reduction of scars and skin rejuvenation, with improved skin texture, firmness and hydration.

Professional skin needling is considered to be one of the safest skin treatment procedures.

  • What if I have Covid and need to cancel my appointment last minute?
Cancellations are challenging for any business, however, we are all in this together, and that includes our clients. We understand that circumstances arise that do not allow you to keep your appointment, especially in regards to Covid-19. Due to an increasing number of last-minute cancellations, we decided to take a personal approach during these challenging times and assess carefully whether the last-minute cancellation is genuine, by kindly requesting proof of your CPR positive test for Covid, including date and requirement to self-isolation. This way we can waive the booking fee, otherwise, our cancellation policy applies.
  • Do you have a Booking and Cancellation Policy?
We understand that your time is valuable, just like ours. We're all about serving our awesome customers and making sure we meet your needs. But hey, we've got a little request for you that will keep the good vibes flowing. When you book your appointment with us, we now require a small deposit fee to secure your spot. We're talking $50 - $100, depending on the service you choose. This little deposit guarantees your spot and shows us you're serious about getting that awesome hair makeover. Please note that the deposit you provide is not an additional charge; it will be deducted from your final bill. Now that's what we call a win-win! But hey, we've got your back! To help you stay organised we'll send you a friendly reminder text and/or email 48 hours before your scheduled appointment. Now, here's where we need your superhero cooperation. We totally get that sometimes things come up and plans change. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we kindly ask for a heads-up of at least 48 hours, and we'll handle it like pros. By giving us enough notice, we can make someone else's hair dreams come true. But hey, if you make changes without giving us the heads up, we don't want to do it but we'll have to charge a fee to cover our costs for that allocated time you've missed. It's like an unruly hair strand that needs taming. We'll need to collect 50% of the total booking price for those surprise moments. We seriously appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter. We want nothing more than to make your hair dreams a reality while keeping things fair for everyone. For more details and answers to common questions, we invite you to visit our FAQ section on our website. Updated as at 01/01/2023
  • Do I need to come in for a consultation prior to my booking?
As a standard protocol, we recommend you to come in for a Hair Consultation prior to the appointment, especially for a hair colour correction, as a strand test might be necessary prior to proceeding with hair colour transformations. This will give us a better understanding of what you are trying to achieve and we can then try and book for the correct allocated time. Please bear in mind that if we have not seen your hair prior to your visit and we find that you will need a major colour correction first or your hair is too damaged, we may need to rebook you and not perform any service on that day. Our stylists will only makeover your hair if they have enough time allocated and if your hair can handle any kind of chemical service. If we have not seen your hair in person, we can only give a price guide and will give you a firm quote prior to commencing any work on the day of your booking. We do understand that many of our clients travel from a long distance and this isn’t possible. For your hair appointment, you can also privately message pictures of your hair to our Facebook page or email, colour history, condition and if possible, inspirational pics. This will give us a better understanding of what you are trying to achieve and we can then try and book for the correct allocated time. Sometimes pictures are deceiving and a 3 hour booking may need to end up a 6+ hour booking. Our team has been instructed to not start a service that they cannot finish, rush or give you a result that you won’t be happy with. It will always end up in disappointment so rather than leave you with unhappy hair we will rebook you for another time suitable to you.
  • How long will my appointment take?
Generally, our hair colour appointments that include a cut and blow-dry are approximately three-four hours. You could be with us for two hours, and it could be up to four or five hours. If you are having a colour correction or have long/thick hair then we will allow extra time. Please be mindful of this when you are booking and provide us with as much information as you can so we can allocate the time for your appointment.
  • How much will my service cost?
Unfortunately, it is not possible to determine the exact cost of the service without seeing your hair. However, you will receive an exact quote before we commence any service. We often utilise a variety of techniques to achieve your desired colour and it will not be possible to calculate the total cost against the price list on our website without seeing your hair. We offer a Hair Colour Consultation at a small cost (which will be deducted from the total amount of your service when performed). During this 30min consultation, we will assess the hair condition, perform a strand test if necessary, discuss all possible options and tailor an action plan for you. You are more than welcome to bring inspirational photos and ideas.
  • Do I have to confirm my booking?
Yes! We have an automated text and email confirmation system. In the unlikely event that you do not receive a confirmation text 24-48 hours prior to your appointment, please feel free to contact the salon via phone to confirm. Unconfirmed appointments will be removed from our booking system and will be available to our waitlist clients.
  • What if I need to cancel my appointment?
When you book an appointment with our salon, you will be asked to provide your credit card details or a bank transfer receipt for a deposit as per our Booking Policy. In the event that you are unable to make your booking, we kindly ask that you provide the salon with more than 48 hours’ notice. Should you fail to contact the salon to cancel or reschedule your appointment within this notice period, your deposit will be forfeited. Please note, deposit amount varies depending on the service requested. Deposit for Style Service: $50 Deposit for Colour Service, Keratin Treatment or Other longer treatments: $100 If you arrive at your appointment as scheduled, your deposit will simply be deducted from your overall service charge.
  • What should I wear?
You will wear a cape and a towel arouund your neck throughout your appointment, so your clothing will be covered. We certainly take every effort to avoid any spills or leaks. However, we recommend you do not wear anything valuable or expensive, as Haircult Beauty Lab cannot be responsible for any stains or damage.
  • What payment methods do you accept?
We accept Cash, EFTPOS, Visa, Mastercard and AfterPay. Unfortunately, we do not accept payment via American Express.
  • I have dark hair colour or colour build up. I want to be platinum blonde. Is it possible to achieve this colour in one goal?
Colour build up is any artificial dye that has been placed on your hair. Until that hair has completely grown out it is likely that it will remain on the hair and can affect the colour outcome. In some cases, it will take up to a hair to achieve a complete colour removal. When cleansing colour your hair will go through various stages of colours, you may see red, orang and yellow tones. Once you have your first colour correction appointment we can usually give you a rough timeline for your colour in the future. Sometimes we are unable to achieve a clean blonde right away. Genetics can be a major factor. Every single person has a natural underlying pigment which is exposed with any form of lightening. For anyone with dark hair the most common pigment is red. You may find someone brunette that can go blonde so easily and you may find they have ancestors were extremely blonde. Also any hair that has colour build up will find that unless it lifts easily you won’t be able to achieve blonde in one session. If you have stubborn hair that struggles to lift well, it means you will have a long road ahead. You will have many “in between” colours of red, orange, copper, yellow and then possibly blonde. We have no idea how your hair will lift until you have had your first session, it's a guessing game. Olaplex is used to help keep the integrity of the hair during each session, plus using common sense which is only lightening to what the hair can tolerate. We get asked all the time- "why can’t we just lighten to blonde all in one day?" if we did that you would be off to a wig store because you wouldn’t have any hair left. Trust in your stylist and their recommendations, we want you as a client for life, not just to take your money. We refuse lightening services all the time purely because we know you will regret it if your hair cannot cope. If you have a long journey to blonde, we will ensure that your “in between” colours are applied beautifully so that you can still feel attractive. We ask you to trust the process.
  • How long does a toner last?
A hair toner should last up to six weeks; depending on how frequently you shampoo your hair and what home care products you use. We can recommend take-home products to maintain the freshness of your colour and we recommend you come back to the salon for a toner application which will refresh the colour of your hair.
  • What's the difference between Highlights and Balayage?
Highlights are placed more precisely through the hair, using foils, and generally the hair is highlighted from root to tip. Balayage is painted onto the hair in sections, freehand, usually from the mid-lengths to the ends (or just not all the way to the roots), and then separated by plastic or sometimes cotton wool while it develops. Highlights allow the colour to develop more and are often more intense, whereas balayage blends more into the natural hair.
  • What sort of Shampoo and Conditioner should I be using for my colour?
We can recommend a salon grade shampoo and conditioner suited for your colour/style/hair needs/budget. We have a large variety of brands to suit everyone. They include our own Organic Australian Made, Olaplex, Evo, FabulosoPro, Davines, S1 Superfood, Milk_Shake and Lakme. For clients with coloured hair we recommend using a colour specific shampoo and conditioner to maintain longevity with your colour and to prevent brassiness. It is also very important for highlighted hair to use a ‘blonde’ specific shampoo and conditioner. We also have conditioning treatments that can be used on a weekly basis to prevent brassiness and tonal changes. We recommend talking to your stylist about what brand/product will suit your colour needs.
  • What if I want a Haircut without a blowdry?
Unfortunately, it is not possible to have a haircut without a blow dry. We need to see the cut when it’s dry to assess whether or not it needs extra cutting and finessing. Cutting the hair dry is a key part of making it perfect.
  • What if I don't like my colour?
It's very important that we have a clear communication. If you are not happy with your colour, we kindly ask you to get in touch with us and let us know what your concerns are about the colour service you've received. Please kindly note that we have a 10 day notification policy if you would like to adjust something about your hair. We do not offer refunds. A consultation will be required to ensure enough time is booked out for any correction and is free of charge. In case you've received the colour service that was agreed in advance with our stylist and has changed your mind, any colour/tone change will be charged.
